Ford f150 turns over but wont start

I have been led to believe this is a V8 only issue. Save a little cash with this one. If it starts after doing this it is probably the fuel pump relay or fuel pump. If it doesn't that points to the ignition system, maybe a crank sensor.The price of the part is $22.56.
